Billie's
Garden
a permaculture project

This is a project about growing food
in a way that gives us a future
—
instead of taking it away.

Wtf
is going on?!
We know the planet is in crisis —
we feel it in our bones.
Yet we’re paralyzed, with no real solution in sight.

Water is running low in places that used to have plenty.

Crops are failing where food once grew reliably.

Entire species are disappearing — quickly.
We’re not heading toward a climate crisis, we’re already living in one.
And if nothing changes,
nothing gets better.

Industrial agriculture
clears forests, drains water, emits massive amounts of greenhouse gases, and destroys the very soil we need to survive.

It’s also one of the main drivers of climate change.
But there’s another way —
a way of growing that restores instead of depletes.

Permaculture
Permaculture is a way of growing food by working with nature’s patterns instead of fighting them. It creates living systems that heal the land, support life, and offer real solutions in a time of crisis.
Restores soil
builds living, fertile ground that gets healthier over time
Stores water
captures rain and reduces waste through natural cycles
Captures carbon
helps pull COâ‚‚ from the air and lock it in the soil
Supports biodiversity
creates space for wildlife, pollinators, and native plants

The Project

At the heart of this project is one hectare of land — a space I’m turning into a permaculture garden.

It’s more than just a place to grow food. It’s a place to come together, to reconnect with the soil, with each other, and with what really matters.

A place where children and adults can learn how food grows, how ecosystems work, and how healing begins — from the ground up.
A Different
Way to Grow
This is about more than one piece of land. It’s about proving we can grow food in ways that restore ecosystems, support life, and build a livable future.

Bring What
You Know
Whether you’re into strategy, accounting,
law, outreach, or communication —
your skills can help move this forward.
Let’s Figure
It Out
There’s no perfect plan.
But we have to start somewhere.
If this speaks to you, reach out — and let’s shape it together.
"We have a commitment to Earth.
It's not just a commitment though;
it's a mad love affair."

Billie's Garden

In moments of hopelessness, her music reminded me that life can still be beautiful — and made me grateful to be alive at the same time her songs exist.
Billie’s music puts words to what it feels like to grow up in a world on the edge — the fear, the grief, but also the choice to keep caring.
This project is a thank-you for that — and a way to carry that feeling forward into something real.

"Her music doesn’t fix you.
It just whispers, ‘Me too.’
And suddenly the room isn’t so empty."
About me
My name is Nino, I’m 27 years old
and I live in Germany.

One of my core values is to leave
places better than I found them.
I’m not interested in just criticizing
what’s broken — I want to help build what’s next.

Real change starts with how we meet
our most basic needs: food, water,
and connection.
That’s why I earned a Permaculture Design Certificate — and why I’m training to become a therapist.
